Sounds weird, right?
But before you discount empathy as being something not necessary you might want to read a little further…
Truth is that empathy goes a long way.
Have you ever thought about what it feels like to be a customer of yours?
Have you ever thought about what it feels like to be a supporter of yours?
Go there with me for a minute…
The truth is it may not feel like you think it does and that might be costing you.
It means that you can relate to those that you serve, sell to, support, and support you.
It means that you know what it is like to be in their shoes.
It means that you know that they have a problem to solve, or a decision to make and you can “empathize” with where they are at but you are providing a solution.
See empathy leads to a solution, your solution… and that solution helps your client, customer, donor or end user better connect with you and what you are providing or selling.
Are you just providing a product or are you empathizing with your client?
Empathy, done the right way, leads to better engagement with you end users, no matter who they are.
